Eastbourne Borough Council has a range of planning policies that are used to inform decisions to approve or reject planning applications.
Recent Government legislation, the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, has made some major changes to the way councils prepare planning policies. Local development plans will be replaced by local development frameworks (LDF), which are a collection of local planning policy documents.
We will be consulting on various development plan documents which will form part of the LDF.
Currenly we are working on the Core Strategy, revised Preferred Options Report. We are compiling many evidence documents which together will inform a revised strategy for the future development of Eastbourne.
All current Borough Plan planning policies are available to download in this section, and you can also find out about the local development framework for Eastbourne, which is currently being assembled. Consultations about planning policies will all be available in the consultations section of the website.
