Personal Searches

Personal searches are carried out by appointment only with at least 24 hours notice. Appointments can be made from 10.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 10.00am to 1.00pm Fridays all subject to staff availability.

A personal search will provide the searcher with a print out of any entries in the Local Land Charges Register at the time the search is carried out.

You are also entitled to view other public registers which are available for inspection, including Environmental Health, Planning and Highways. Only information on public registers is available to personal searchers. Although viewing the registers is free, you may be charged for copying documents. Please let us know if there are other registers you want to view.

As well as 24 hours notice, for a personal search we will require:

• The full address of the property to be searched
• A plan (if available) faxed to 01323 415994 or emailed to landcharges@eastbourne.gov.uk.
• Your personal details, i.e. company name, address and contact number.
