Apply for a Local Land Search
Electronic Searches
We run a fully electronic service through the National Land Information Service Hub (NLIS) and are currently at Level 3 which means that we can receive and return electronic searches.
You can request and receive searches online by signing up to one of the NLIS service providers:
NLIS Searchflow (approved NLIS channel)
TM Property Service (approved NLIS channel)
TransAction Online (approved NLIS channel)
See Other Websites for links to these providers.
Plans are still required with electronic searches.
Postal or DX Searches
To apply for a search non-electronically you should include forms LLC1 and CON 29 in duplicate (these forms are obtainable from Solicitors or Law Stationers). Please submit two up-to-date plans showing the area to be searched outlined in red. You should also send a cheque made payable to "Eastbourne Borough Council" for the correct fee.
How long does it take?
Searches take around five to six working days depending on the complexity of the search, but no more than ten working days (the Government target for Local Authority Searches). Electronic (NLIS) searches can be quicker than paper searches as they do not have to catch the DX collection or post.
