Eastbourne Borough Council is responsible for the management and protection of 11km out of the 12.9km of Eastbourne's coastline. It is an area maintained by the council's Engineering Group.
The Environment Agency is responsible for the remaining 1.9km at the Crumbles and Sovereign Harbour to the east of the town.
