The online videos will also be shared across social networking sites such as Facebook, to create a viral campaign that will encourage young people to think about the main issues affecting climate change.

On our Facebook page you can let us know what you think of the students videos and post your comments.

Working with Sussex Downs College

The students were asked to produce the short videos as part of their coursework, with the option of creating a generic video about climate change or focusing on a specific issue such as waste, food or transport and the effect this has on the environment.

Sussex Downs College is a member of Eastbourne’s Environment Partnership and course leader Kate Williams was keen to be involved in the project, working with Nick Adlam, the council's Energy Efficiency Officer.

Digital Media Design with a Punchy Message

The students learned a lot in this assignment - about climate change, about working to the needs of a client who is commissioning the work, and about creating short films with a punchy message. This will benefit them as they become Digital Media Design professionals, and has allowed them to lend their ideas and creativity to a good cause.
