Climate Change - What the Council is Doing

Act on CO2 - Action in the UK

Find out what Eastbourne Borough Council is doing about climate change.

Our Climate Change Strategy

The government believes that climate change is the greatest long-term challenge facing the world today and there is an urgent need for action.

The council is aiming to meet this challenge by updating the Planning Policy Statement to help deliver sustainable developments for the future.

We are preparing a Climate Change Strategy for Eastbourne, covering:

  • what the council will do itself

  • how we will work with businesses and organisations

  • how we will help individuals and the community

There are six key areas for the strategy to focus on:

  • Energy use

  • Transport

  • Water conservation

  • Waste

  • Procurement

  • Land use planning

This section will be regularly updated with information about action the council is taking and advice about the issues to raise awareness.
