Climate Change Effects in Eastbourne

Climate Change - Act on CO2

Find out about the predicted impacts of climate change in Eastbourne.

Likely effects of climate change in the South East of England are increased frequency and intensity of drought and flooding.

Since 2000, we have experienced some of the hottest and wettest months and years on record.

Climate Change Predictions

Climate change predictions suggest that, on average, we will experience wetter winters and drier summers in the future. If, as predicted, severe storms become more frequent, the risk of flooding will increase.

The sea level in the south-east of England is rising about 6mm per year, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). 3mm of this sea-level rise is due to global warming.
