Eastbourne Borough Council and Wealden District Council have reviewed the structure and operational requirements of their respective Building Control services. It has been demonstrated that there were a number of synergies across the two service areas and it was concluded that by combining the two services there would be the potential to reduce the overheads and operational costs and thereby providing customers within both Council area with a good value, consistent approach to Building Control.
The new shared Building Control service will operate under the branding of East Sussex Building Control Partnership as from 1st April 2011.
The principal partner under the agreement will be Wealden with the service being based provisionally at the Council Offices in Crowborough and satellite offices remaining in Eastbourne. It is the ultimate intension that the shared service will locate to Hailsham after Wealden Council’s planned office move in the summer of 2012.

Please note that we only hold Building Control records for a period of 15 years.
