Find out what Eastbourne's Dog Welfare Officer does.

The Dog Welfare Officer, who is often called a dog warden, works in the council's Environmental Health team.

Looking After Dogs

Discover how the Dog Welfare Officer looks after dogs and sorts out problems with their owners.

The Dog Welfare Officer catches lost dogs, looks after them and takes them home or helps find them new homes.

Dog owners can get advice about looking after their dogs.

Looking After People

The council tries to stop owners letting their dogs poop in the street, to keep our town clean and healthy for people. We make sure owners keep their dogs on leads in public places so that they behave properly.

We encourage owners to look after their dogs properly and stop them barking too much, so that noise does not upset other people.

The council's Environmental Health Officers also check up on pet shops to make sure animals are looked after properly.
