The Show Must Go On with Queen Tribute Night

Mercury Queen Tribute Act

The world’s most authentic Queen tribute act comes to Bandstand on the Beach this Friday 11 May, featuring songs from the iconic British band, and their legendary front man Freddie Mercury.

Five-piece tribute act Mercury, have performed all over the world, seen by millions on TV and have even performed for the original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

The bands dynamic stage show recreates the charismatic appeal of rock’s most flamboyant front man, backed up by superbly crafted harmonies and intricate guitar work.

Fans can look forward to an evening of greats including hits such as We Are The Champions, I Want to Break Free, We Will Rock You and all time classic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “We had a great start to the season last weekend with hundreds joining us for Bandstand on the Beach and some very impressive moves on the dance floor!  Mercury have an incredible stage show and really are the all time greats when it comes to tribute acts, so we are delighted they are coming to Eastbourne.”

Bandstand on the Beach also opens on 13 May for a free Sunday afternoon concert with South West Surrey Concert Band making a welcome return visit.  Featuring hits from films, musicals, classical and even rock and pop, the band of young musicians are a firm family favourite.

The new beach venue includes a temporary stage next to the Bandstand with deckchair seating, a wheelchair viewing area and a bar.  On Friday night the seating area will open at 7pm with the performance starting at 8pm.  The performance on Sunday is free and begins at 3pm.

Tribute night concert tickets cost Adults £7.25, Friends of Bandstand £6.75 and Child £5.25 in advance (on the door tickets cost £1 extra).  All other concerts throughout May and June will be free of charge from the beach, until the Bandstand reopens in July.
