Eastbourne Borough Council has amended an application for activities under the Licensing Act 2003 on Five Acre Field seeking a “one off” licence consent.
Due to a busy summer of entertainment, the council is seeking permission to place a visiting circus on Five Acre Field from August 2 to 7, 2012.
To address any concerns that have been expressed by local residents, the council has now amended its licensing application to make clear it is only for a one off use of the land to accommodate the Moscow State Circus..
The application will be considered at a Licensing Sub Committee on June 28 at 6pm, to be held at the Assembly Hall at Eastbourne Town Hall.
Cllr Neil Stanley, portfolio holder for tourism, said: “We are very excited about what is shaping up to be an amazing summer line up of entertainment in Eastbourne. Due to the busy schedule, we need to seek an alternative location for the circus for this year only, and so we have applied for permission to use Five Acre Field.
“However, the application has been changed to a one off use to show local residents that we do not intend to use Five Acre Field as a permanent venue.”
