Hone your film and photography skills at Towner

13 June, 2012

Eastbourne’s Towner will be holding a Willie Doherty inspired film and photography workshop from Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 June.

This is an adult workshop for students (16+) and enthusiasts at all levels, from beginner to advanced and will enable you to develop your film and photography skills over two days with leading photographer Alex Brattell.

Working individually and in teams, the workshop will allow you to create a body of work that uses image, text, video and sound in the style of Willie Doherty, taking location as your starting point. The finished work will go on display at Towner for two weeks.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “This latest workshop at Towner is a great chance for adults to get creative at the contemporary art museum. Two days with a leading photographer will enable people of all levels to perfect their skills in a great environment whilst also having fun.”

The workshop runs from 10.30am till 2.30pm each day and costs £35 or £25 concession – people must attend both days of the workshop.

There are a limited amount of Towner cameras available to use (ask when booking) so it is advised to bring your own camera and or video camera. Editing equipment and software will be provided. People attending the workshop should also bring a packed lunch.
