Supermarket giant Morrisons is coming to Eastbourne creating more than 300 retail vacancies.
Construction has begun at the Lottbridge Drove site with a view to opening in October 2012.
Vacancies for management positions are now live, those interested in applying should go to the Morrisons website to download a job pack and apply online or telephone 0845 611 6670 for an application form. The closing date for applications is 30th April 2012.
As Morrisons preferred recruitment partner, Eastbourne Jobcentre Plus are working closely with Eastbourne Borough Council, local training providers and other employability organisations to provide support for local people seeking employment.
Gail Roberts, New Developments Resourcing Manager for Morrisons said: “Morrisons is committed to the town in the long-term; creating local jobs for local people, building careers and supporting the local economy. We encourage local people with retail or food management experience to come forward.”
The Chair of Activating Eastbourne, Councillor Margaret Bannister added: “In a time of increasing uncertainty, the creation of 300 new jobs in Eastbourne is fantastic news.”
The next phase of recruitment can be expected in June for the remainder of the store vacancies. Eastbourne Jobcentre Plus will be releasing details of forthcoming vacancies and how to apply in conjunction with its partner organisations.
