The official destination twitter for Eastbourne will be hosting its first tweetup this November teaming up with the town’s Conference Bureau to highlight Eastbourne’s free venue-finding service and network with local twitter users.
The VisitEastbourne tweetup will take place on Thursday 24 November at the Winter Garden’s Congress Suite and tweeters from the Eastbourne business community are invited to drop in from 4pm – 7pm and put faces to the people behind the tweets.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, Cllr Neil Stanley said “Twitter has certainly become an important part of our tourism and leisure marketing in Eastbourne, helping us to reach new audiences both within the local community as well as connect with new visitors. We have formed some fantastic relationships with local businesses and individuals via twitter and we hope this will be a great networking opportunity to meet other tweeters face to face, and have the chance to speak in more than 140 characters!”
@ConferenceEB is the official twitter feed for Eastbourne Conference Bureau bringing in major conferences to the town’s main conference venue, the Devonshire Park Centre, as well as offering a free venue-finding service. The Conference Bureau hopes to use the tweetup to raise awareness of the Devonshire Park Centre as well as network with potential suppliers and new venues.
The November tweetup will offer the chance to showcase venues at the Devonshire Park Centre and highlight the VisitEastbourne twitter as the official stream for finding out what’s on in Eastbourne for visitors, residents and the business community.
