Towner and Melting Vinyl present… THE DIGITAL CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL

November 29, 2011

Friday 9 December 9pm – 1am (doors open 8.30 pm)

Towner – The Contemporary Art Museum for the South East in association with Melting Vinyl and Boredbrands Digital Funfair are delighted to present their inaugural Christmas Carnival.

For one night only the cavernous exhibition halls of Towner will be transformed into a festive “mash up of popular culture, technology and the thrill of the fairground.”

Central to the night is the Eastbourne premier of the festival circuit favourite Boredbrands Digital Funfair. Carnival goers can expect delights such as the Virtual Coconut Shy, semi automatic dj-ing table, the Beat Jigsaw and Smack Bottoms – the world’s only mannequin based guitar hero game!

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Neil Stanley said “We are very excited to present our first Christmas Carnival at Towner promising a unique night out in Eastbourne’s iconic art museum Towner. We are pleased to continue our partnership with Melting Vinyl in hosting club nights with a difference following the success of the Studio 54 and Club Tokyo events, and delighted to welcome Broadbands Digital Funfair who will be working with us on this spectacular new event.”

Sounds on the night will be programmed by Melting Vinyl and will include themed live acts and DJ’s.

Having been compared to LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip, this Anglo-French Brighton-based band Transformer, are set to fill the dance floor once again with their electro-disco grooves.

Accompanying them will be DJs and Promoters Teen Creeps. This collective have been bringing fresh electro sounds to Brighton through nights such as ‘Das Club Boutique’. This is a DJ set to bring the night alight.

In addition expect digital graffiti from Tom Goulden and Towner’s very own Generate Crew. Optional dress code for the night is “past, present and yet to come” - the particularly adventurous can try all three at once!
