Local Producers Wanted at Airbourne

Local Produce Market at Airbourne

31 May 2011

Organisers of Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow are calling for local producers to come forward to form a mini Sussex market at the event this summer, which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Taking place from 11-14 August and already popular with national exhibitors who use the busy event to market their products, Airbourne organisers want to offer visitors a taste of Sussex with a local produce market lining the promenade along the Wish Tower Plaza.

Sussex producers are being invited to use the event to showcase their locally sourced and made food, drink and crafts with stalls available for just £25 per day.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “We are very excited to build on the success of Airbourne 2010, which included a small selection of local food and drink stalls that were really well received. I really hope that local producers will take advantage of bringing their food and drink to Airbourne 2011 and offer the hundreds and thousands of visitors who come from across the globe, the chance to enjoy a real taste of Sussex.”

Now in its 19th year, Airbourne is internationally renowned for staging a packed four days of flying displays from its glorious seafront setting and has regularly attracted top brands using the event’s huge footfall to promote their product.

Dairylea, Kodak, Nintendo and Warburtons are just some of the blue chip companies that have exhibited at Airbourne in the past and made the most of the many brand and commercial opportunities available.

With sponsorship packages also available, companies are being invited to find out about the opportunities on offer, including branding in 25,000 souvenir programmes, adverts on Radio Airbourne, banners at the event and brand new for this year, Airbourne TV. This will see three big screens on the seafront, one in the town centre and live streaming over the web and through local hotels, restaurants and bars with a TV and web connection.
