‘Jo Brand’s Big Splash’ is coming to Eastbourne’s main resort beach this Saturday with comedian Jo Brand leading a mass swim at 3pm.
Jo will be leading the charge into the sea on Saturday afternoon and families are invited to join Jo on the beach next to the Lifeguard Station for this celebration of Eastbourne’s excellent beach and seaside heritage.
Last week Eastbourne Beach received the top ‘recommended’ rating from the 2011 Good Beach Guide by the Marine Conservation Society for its excellent bathing water quality and visitors and residents are invited to bring along their family, friends and most importantly, their swimming costumes, this Saturday for the mass swim!
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Neil Stanley said “We are very excited to welcome Jo Brand to Eastbourne’s award-winning beach this weekend and hope that as many people as possible take the opportunity to go along and dip their toes in the water! We have just received a top rating for our bathing water quality so it’s a fantastic once in a lifetime chance to enjoy Eastbourne’s first class sea water with Jo!”
The huge swim is part of ‘Jo Brand’s Big Splash’, a new series for DAVE exploring Britain’s relationship with water and is being filmed in Eastbourne this Saturday.
