Eastbourne Borough Council is working very closely with Sussex Police and East Sussex County Council to ensure the unauthorised occupation of Five Acre Field is resolved swiftly.
We are acutely aware of the concerns of local residents and we are holding on-going meetings to determine how best to ensure the site is vacated as quickly as possible.
Part of this process is to ensure the correct legal procedures are followed to allow the occupants of Five Acre Field to be moved to a purpose built designated gypsy and traveller transit site in the County.
By working with the relevant authorities, we are doing our upmost to minimise the impact to the local community.
