13th July 2011

Visitors to Eastbourne Bandstand can relive the most popular hits from an iconic English rock band this Friday night as Mercury perform a tribute concert to Queen.

A favourite date on the tribute concert calendar, Mercury are returning to Eastbourne’s historic seafront venue this Friday evening and audiences can look forward to performances of hits including Bohemian Rhapsody, Don’t Stop Me Now and We Will Rock You.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “The Queen tribute night is always a popular evening for Eastbourne Bandstand and we’ve had visitors enjoying the concert in all weathers singing and dancing along! I hope this week’s performance proves to be another hit, with lots more still to look forward to at the Bandstand in 2011.”

This Sunday welcomes a double bill of concerts at the Bandstand with Lancing Brass of the Royal British Legion performing a Traditional Afternoon Concert and East Grinstead Concert Band taking to the stage for Sunday Night on the Proms. Friends of the Bandstand can get tickets for the Traditional Afternoon Concert for just £1 when booking in advance.

Next week presents a packed line up too, including Eastbourne Gilbert and Sullivan Society returning on Monday evening to perform music and songs from the world famous opera, regular performers Eastbourne Silver Band play on Wednesday evening for the spectacular 1812 Firework Concert and The Johnny Spice Orchestra will continue the Big Band Sounds concerts on Thursday.
