Beer Fest Tickets on Sale Now

Following record sell-out success in 2010, tickets go on sale this Monday for one of the south east’s biggest real ale events with visitors encouraged to book early for the popular Eastbourne Beer Festival.

A record number of over 4,600 visitors packed into the Winter Garden last autumn as the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening sessions sold out with festival goers enjoying more than 14,400 pints during the three day event.

This year Eastbourne Beer Festival takes place from 27 – 29 October and real ale lovers can book their tickets from Monday 18 July with the ninth year of the event promising over 100 real ales, bottled beers from around the world, a top selection of local wines, ciders and perries plus plenty of live entertainment.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Neil Stanley said “Eastbourne Beer Festival is certainly a firm favourite in the town’s event calendar and regularly attracts sell-out sessions. The 2010 event surpassed all expectations with the opening night selling out for the first time. With a special 2 for 1 offer on Thursday evening tickets, I’d encourage festival fans to snap up the discounted tickets and enjoy first dibs on the full casks of ale!”

The Beer Festival drinks menu contains more than 100 real ales from across the globe; from Legless Rambler made just down the road at Beachy Head Brewery to Brahma Crop and Mac’s Gold.

It’s not just drinks on the menu at the Eastbourne Beer Festival either; the event offers a packed programme of live entertainment, including bands Howlin’ Blues, Band of Two and Smugg Jam, Morris dancing with Long Man Morris and Hunters Moon Morris and the Ragati String Band.

Last year tickets for the Friday and Saturday evening sessions sold out before doors even opened with the remaining Thursday night tickets going quickly on the door and organisers Eastbourne Borough Council and CAMRA are looking forward to another busy year.

With pub grub on the menu throughout the event plus entertainment including live music, traditional pub games and a family quiz during the Saturday day time sessions, there will be plenty to keep festival fans busy this autumn.

Tickets start at just £5.50 with Thursday night festival goers getting two for the price of one, with a £1 discount for CAMRA members across all sessions and a special £1 discount for students with NUS cards on the Thursday.
