To celebrate Eastbourne Bandstand becoming licensed for weddings and ceremonies, a wedding competition prize with a difference has attracted entries from as far as the USA and Canada!
Eastbourne Bandstand has teamed up with local businesses to offer couples the chance to enjoy a wedding prize with a difference in 2012, including their ceremony at the Bandstand, their wedding night at the 5-star Grand Hotel, and their honeymoon in Dolly the VW Camper Van.
The competition has really caught the imagination of businesses in Eastbourne with further prizes being offered from Cutting Edge and Kevin Sharpe Photography with the prize package now including a bridal dress to the value of £500 and wedding photography by Kevin Sharpe.
Running exclusively on VisitEastbourne.com and by postcard entry at the Seafront Office, the competition has already attracted more than 130 entries from as far afield as America, Canada, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands!
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “When we first came up with our wedding competition, we had no idea it would become so popular! Not only has it attracted interest from local businesses wanting to add to the prize package but it has also become a hit with a worldwide audience really putting Eastbourne on the international map! We are always looking at new ways to promote Eastbourne and its varied tourism product and this competition has certainly paid off in getting the Bandstand noticed all over the world! With the competition running until the end of this summer, I’d encourage any couples looking for a quirky wedding experience to enter now!”
Eastbourne’s wedding competition was launched earlier this year to coincide with the Royal Wedding and is running until 30 September 2011 with couples invited to enter online at the Win Your Wedding page on the Visit Eastbourne web site or by popping their details on a postcard at the Seafront Office.
