December 1, 2011 VisitEastbourne fans are being invited to come up with an Eastbourne version of the 12 Days of Christmas song and post Eastbourne themed suggestions for each day on twitter and facebook.
Following the success of the VisitEastbourne A to Z Challenge with more than 90 people taking part and sharing over 630 reasons to visit Eastbourne, the 12 days of Christmas challenge will encourage fans to interact during the festive period.
Starting on Thursday 1 December, VisitEastbourne will ask fans on facebook and followers on twitter to come up with witty Eastbourne themed lyrics, illustrations or photos for each number, with the top 12 being posted on the VisitEastbourne blog in time for the official 12 Days of Christmas starting on 25 December.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Neil Stanley said “Our A to Z Challenge certainly struck a chord with fans on our social media channels and we hope that the 12 Days of Christmas challenge will get them talking again! We’re always looking for quirky ways of interacting with our fans through social media and it’s a great way to raise the profile of Eastbourne and reach new audiences too.”
Fans are being encouraged to come up with Eastbourne inspired lyrics for each number or can even illustrate an idea or take a photo and post it on the VisitEastbourne facebook page or tweet on twitter.
All of the suggestions will be reviewed and the best lyric, illustration or photo for each number will be posted on the new VisitEastbourne blog by 25 December, ready for the start of the official 12 Days of Christmas, which runs until January.
