Two food safety courses have been organised in Eastbourne which are aimed at anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.
The two courses are being jointly run by Eastbourne and Wealden Councils with one taking place in November and the other in the New Year.
Eastbourne Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Development and Environment Councillor Steve Wallis said, “We are delighted to be working with Wealden District Council to offer this course. The course covers everything from legislation to hygiene hazards, cleaning and food handling. It’s a real must for anyone working in or starting out in a food business.”
Everyone who takes part and completes the course will get a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) level 2 award in food safety, which is a nationally recognised qualification.
The day long courses will be held at Eastbourne Town Hall starting at 9.30 in the morning, on 15 November and 20 January 2011. Booking is essential, to find out about availability and cost please contact us on 01323 443302.
