8 October 2010 Ticket sales for the eighth Eastbourne Beer Festival have hit an all time record and there are still three sessions to go!
One of the south coast’s biggest celebrations of real ale and featuring over 150 varieties in 2010, tickets for Eastbourne Beer Festival have been flying out the door since they went on sale back in May with Friday night and Saturday night selling out weeks ago.
And with the first session getting off to a record start yesterday evening with tickets selling out as visitors enjoyed first dibs on the sale, ticket sales are already over 200 up on last year’s total.
With tickets only remaining for this Saturday’s day session, those who haven’t booked a date at Eastbourne Beer Festival 2010 still have chance to grab the last few remaining tickets for tomorrow and taste ales including the likes of Brewdog Punk, Dorset Jurassic, Very Merry Mayor, and FILO Ginger Tom.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “These astounding ticket sales are fantastic news for Eastbourne Beer Festival and testament to the event’s popularity attracting more and more visitors every year. With Friday night and Saturday night both selling out over the past few years, it is brilliant that the opening night has matched that success with yesterday evening’s session seeing real ale fans spilling into the Winter Garden to enjoy the first samples of the full casks! For anyone who has yet to experience the festival atmosphere and enjoy the range of live entertainment and traditional pub games on offer too, there is still time to book for tomorrow daytime when Long Man Morris will be leading a master class in Morris dancing!”
Tomorrow afternoon, the Mayor of Eastbourne Cllr Carolyn Heaps will be at the event to enjoy a drop of her Very Merry Mayor ale donated by Beachy Head Brewery before joining the Long Man Morris master class.
The Long Man Morris will perform just after lunchtime during the Saturday day session and then take a master class from 2pm – 3pm when festival fans can get on their feet and have a go at the tradition alongside the Mayor. During the day on Saturday visitors can also see the Band of Two and take part in the Big Pub Quiz.
Tickets are available in advance for just £4.50 from Eastbourne Box Office on 01323 412000. For more information and to view a list of ales available at the Beer Festival, which is on now until Saturday, visit the Beer Festival website or call 0871 663 0031.
