Eastbourne Crematorium was recently visited by the President and Officers of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities. Inspections were made of the buildings, grounds and procedures, and the Federation found that the Crematorium was well run and they were impressed with the general standards throughout.
They found that the grounds around the Crematorium are maintained to a very good standard and that a good proportion of the memorial features within the Garden of Remembrance were accessible for disabled people.
The report went on to say that a high level of service was being delivered by the staff who should be applauded for their commitment to the service and their willingness to respond to the needs of the bereaved.
Councillor Margaret Bannister said "We are delighted to receive such a positive report about our Crematorium and I would like to thank the staff for the sensitive approach that they offer to support bereaved residents at such a difficult time."
