Black Dot Shirts Launch on VisitEastbourne

Sunny Eastbourne T-shirt
3 November 2010

Navigate around Eastbourne Underground or promote the resort’s status as the sunniest place in the UK with a new range of local t-shirts being launched on VisitEastbourne’s online shop.

VisitEastbourne.com has teamed up with Black Dot Shirt Company to promote their quirky Eastbourne inspired designs to visitors from around the world.

Thought up by local businessman Paul Clark who owns Glide Design in Eastbourne and printed by Chris Wood from Pevensey Bay’s Superscreen Printing, the t-shirts offer a unique take on well known brands with slogans such as King of Piers and Sunny Eastbourne.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said “These t-shirts make a fantastic addition to the range of items on our online shop and are perfect for fans of Eastbourne, completely inspired by some of our most famous landmarks and sunshine status. We have already seen Black Dot Shirt Co. exhibiting at both Airbourne and the recent Eastbourne Beer Festival and the reaction from visitors was great with people crowding round to view the designs. I hope they will prove just as popular on our online shop.”

VisitEastbourne.com currently carries seven different designs from the company whose strapline promotes their Sussex heritage, ‘Designed in Eastbourne, Printed in Pevensey Bay, Sold Worldwide’ and offer both visitors and residents a novel way to show their love of the destination.

Paul Clark said “We are delighted to have our products launched on VisitEastbourne’s E-shop. We are all local people at the Black Dot Shirt Co. and it gives us a great deal of pleasure to help promote the town through our shirts. We have sent out some of our local products to many parts of Europe and recently posted a shirt to Edmonton, Canada – a true global brand!”

The Black Dot Shirt Company are one of several new local companies working with Eastbourne Borough Council’s Tourism team this autumn, with the Cavendish Hotel, Haunted Experiences, and Eastbourne artist Margaret Turton also adding their products to expand the shop.
