Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre is preparing for a busy year in 2010 as visitor numbers hit the record books with more than 264,000 customers through the door last year.
Offering over the counter bookings for a wide range of services, from theatre bookings to Bandstand concerts, and from National Express coach travel to Day Save train tickets for Southern Rail, Eastbourne’s Tourist Information Centre has established itself as a one-stop-shop for both visitors and residents in the south east resort.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris said “What a fantastic year the Tourist Information Centre had in 2009. Offering a variety of booking services as well as local information, handy tips on where to go, and accommodation booking too, the Tourist Information Centre continues to prove itself as an invaluable resource for holidaymakers, day trippers and those living in the town.”
From next week, the Tourist Information Centre will add another service to its belt selling one day supersaver tickets for Brighton & Hove Buses, offering an affordable way for residents and visitors to travel along the coast to Brighton.
The One Day Super Saver ticket will offer return bus travel aboard Brighton & Hove Buses from Eastbourne to Brighton for just £3.20 and is expected to be popular with those that commute on a daily basis as well as visitors looking for cheap ways to explore the nearby towns and cities.
With the Tourist Information Centre already offering Day Save train tickets offering unlimited off peak travel with Southern Rail for just £10 per adult or £20 for a group of three or four and £1 for children, the centre offers several discounted tickets that make Eastbourne an easily accessible resort for visitors across the south east.
