16 February 2010 The country’s only 5-star seaside hotel is launching new survival-inspired holidays with the chance for families to create their own jungle adventure before unwinding in luxury accommodation overlooking Eastbourne seafront.
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is working with Amazon Events in Hellingly to offer Amazon Survival Package holidays inspired by ITV’s popular series, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”
The exciting packages make a unique getaway for families during school holidays and half-term breaks, with the chance to experience an assault course through the ‘Amazon Jungle’ led by Ray Mears-trained survival instructors, before being whisked back to The Grand Hotel to unwind in first class surroundings.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris said “These adventure holidays are such an exciting idea and something very new for Eastbourne that I hope will catch the imaginations of families looking for a staycation with a difference in 2010. Visitors opting for a jungle adventure can really test their stamina and put all of their energy into the survival mission, knowing that they having something to look forward to afterwards when they relax in the country’s finest coastal hotel.”
As well as offering a unique break for families in 2010, the survival packages also provide an exhilarating option for businesses looking for a corporate away day or team-building experience.
The packages can be tailor-made and visitors are given ‘I’m a Celebrity’ style survival outfits to wear as they tackle a range of jungle challenges, from following maps with cryptic clues to quad biking, rifle and laser clay shooting, and a mud buggy Grand Prix.
With the Grand Hotel providing the perfect antidote to a day spent ‘roughing’ it in the jungle, visitors can enjoy a sumptuous dining experience and luxury four poster beds in the warm and comfortable surroundings of the magnificent White Palace that stands on Eastbourne seafront.
