Ward Councillors have given £1000 towards Christmas lights and festive event taking place on Saturday 18 December from 10am till 4pm in Brassey Parade/Avenue shopping area. The event has been organised by Hampden Park Traders association.
Councillor Mike Thompson says, “We are pleased to support the Christmas event and lights which will provide an entertaining day for the people of Hampden Park. There will be; a pet’s corner, fancy dress, street entertainment, carol signing, a release of 1000 environmentally free balloons and a snow king and Queen will be crowned.”
The festive feel to the shops in Brassey Parade and Avenue will encourage people to stop and look at the lights and pick up some bargains in the local shops.
Ward budgets are an amount of money set aside for councillors to spend on one off projects in their wards, residents who have an idea of something in the area that could do with help should contact their ward councillor.
