Wicked Band Line Up at Mag Motors

Crowds at Magnificent Motors
21 April 2010

The live music line up for one of the south coast’s biggest free motoring extravaganzas is set to be ‘Wicked’, with a cast member of the West End musical joining a band set to perform at Eastbourne’s Magnificent Motors.

Gareth Chart spends his week treading the boards on London’s West End in the popular stage show Wicked, but is swapping the city lights for the sunshine coast on Sunday 2 May to perform on the live band stage at Magnificent Motors joining Mike Bostock’s slot.

Visitors to the May Bank Holiday event on Eastbourne seafront can look forward to a packed musical line up over the two day event from 1-2 May with local bands taking to the stage to entertain the crowds as they admire the hundreds of vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, and steam engines exhibiting on the Western Lawns.

An Eastbourne Borough Council spokesperson said “Magnificent Motors is a fantastic event for visitors of all ages and the varied live music acts promises to provide a brilliant soundtrack for what is set to be a bumper weekend. With over 500 vehicles set to exhibit over the weekend and dazzle visitors, combined with a French Market and funfair rides, Magnificent Motors is a major date in the Eastbourne calendar and a great opportunity for an early summer break.”

This year’s band programme is the most versatile yet and new for 2010 includes a Gospel Choir and Dirty Harry performing rock covers, while favourites from last year Herb Man Dan and The Satellites (formerly Starsky) return to the seafront stage.

Exhibitor entries for this year’s Magnificent Motors are now closed with motoring enthusiasts more keen than ever before to show off their vehicles at Eastbourne’s Bank Holiday event.

From classics such as the Mini Cooper to impressive American saloons, visitors will be able to see the vehicle timeline before their eyes and a cavalcade each morning will provide the perfect opportunity for visitors to line the seafront and watch as the cars pull up onto the Western Lawns.

Visitors to the event can also look forward to a continental flavour being added to the Bank Holiday festivities with a French Market lining the promenade between the Bandstand and Wish Tower.

For more information on the free event that begins with a cavalcade on Saturday and Sunday at 10am, with the event officially opening at 11am visit the Magnificent Motors website or telephone 0871 663 0031.
