27 April 2010 Crowd favourite Abba Fever are returning to Eastbourne Bandstand next Friday to launch the 2010 concert season with a Firework Tribute Concert set to dazzle the seafront skies.
Abba Fever are regular performers at Eastbourne Bandstand with their performances enjoying sell-out success for the past three years with the hit Mama Mia movie and West End musical igniting fresh interest in the Swedish group.
With tickets on sale now from the Bandstand website and Seafront Office, there is still time to book a place at the first tribute concert of 2010 in the year that the iconic Eastbourne landmark celebrates its 75th Birthday.
An Eastbourne Borough Council spokesperson said “This really is the must see show of the summer in Eastbourne, with the Abba Fever Firework Concert building a really strong following over the past few years. Last year was the first year that a firework concert opened the season and we are delighted that audiences have another chance to enjoy this exciting tribute night at the start of the season, while also looking forward to the other tributes coming up in 2010.
“And if audiences enjoy seeing colourful pyrotechnic displays lighting up the seafront then there are plenty more firework concerts this year including 1812 Nights every Wednesday and the Rokky Horror season finale.”
This year the tribute season runs through until Friday 24 September and combines some of today’s most popular artists such as Girls Aloud and Take That with favourite acts from the past including The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Queen.
Tickets are already on sale for all of the Friday night Tribute Concerts with fans encouraged to book their seats in advance before they sell out.
With the Traditional Sunday Afternoon Concerts also getting into full swing next weekend, visitors have the chance to enjoy a variety of entertainment at the UK’s only fully operational Bandstand.
June is also set to welcome the full Bandstand concert programme as the 1812 Firework Concerts return every Wednesday joined by Saturday Afternoon on Broadway, Big Band Night, Rock N Roll and more, Eastbourne Bandstand is preparing for its busiest year yet as it also celebrates 75 years since it first opened.
Tickets for all concerts are on sale now, including its Birthday Concerts on 28 July and 5 August, marking 75 years since the first ever Bandstand concerts as well as 75 years since it was officially opened by Lord Leconfield.
