An Eastbourne Borough Council spokesperson said “What a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend this is shaping up to be in Eastbourne. Magnificent Motors is a brilliant way for us to kick off our major events programme and we’re looking forward to seeing thousands of visitors enjoying the fine display of vehicles from the glorious setting of Eastbourne seafront. With plenty more going on in Eastbourne too including a Traditional Afternoon Concert at the Bandstand on Sunday and the free exhibitions on offer at Towner, Eastbourne promises a hive of activity for residents and visitors this weekend.”
Magnificent Motors gets underway on Saturday and Sunday at 10am with a cavalcade of exhibitors along the seafront before they park up on the Western Lawns and the event opens at 11am.
Children will love the funfair rides keeping them amused while the live music stage will provide the perfect soundtrack to the weekend with a star of the West End musical Wicked even making an appearance on Sunday.
Just along the promenade Eastbourne Bandstand is staging its first Traditional Afternoon Concert of the season on Sunday afternoon with regular performers Eastbourne Silver Band set to entertain concert goers.
The Bank Holiday weekend provides the perfect excuse for Magnificent Motors visitors to extend their stay in Eastbourne too, enjoying the event on Saturday and Sunday before using May Day to explore the rest of the resort.
From admiring works of art by local artists and makers in the free East Sussex Open exhibition at Eastbourne’s award-winning gallery Towner and the Edwin La Dell Lithographs exhibition at the Emma Mason Gallery, to children’s activities at Drusillas Zoo and the Observatory Science Centre, Eastbourne makes a packed staycation for the three-day weekend.
