9 March 2009 Towner, Eastbourne’s new art gallery, is offering five places at its prestigious pre-opening event.
The state-of-the-art attraction, designed by the award-winning Rick Mather Architects and new home to the famed Towner Collection, opens to the public on 4 April and is holding an invitation only pre-opening reception on the evening of 3 April.
Five places are up for grabs and each winner gets to bring a guest along to a once in a lifetime event: the eve of Towner’s grand opening. Funders, supporters and representatives from the wider art world will be there to mark this milestone and help spread the word about the gallery and Eastbourne nationally.
Towner is asking members of the public to make their own version of the Towner ‘t’ logo, following the instructions below.
Council Leader David Tutt said the challenge, should the Eastbourne public choose to accept it, showed the Towner’s interactive and engaging qualities at their finest. “This is a great opportunity for ten people – five winners and a guest for each – to get involved with this new, cutting edge building right from the word go and even before it opens to the public,” he said.
Entrants must take a digital photo of themselves with their finished version of the folded Towner ‘t’ logo and email it to towner@eastbourne.gov.uk with the word ‘competition’ in the subject line. Name and address should be included in the email. Please keep the file size small as a low resolution jpeg (less than 500kb). Deadline for entries is 26 March.
