Emergency Tree Felling

11 March 2008

Two trees in Terminus Road have been felled due to the severe weather. The two Alders were inspected as part of a proactive Tree Risk Management Programme through which we examine trees that pose a high risk if they were to fail.

Sadly both trees in Terminus Road were found to pose an unacceptable risk of failure, and a thorough inspection resulted in the need to remove them. One of the Council’s contractors had a crew on site to complete the work within 20 minutes of the inspection.

The stumps are left at 2.0 metres in height to prevent them being a trip hazard and our contractors will return to remove them as soon as possible. We are pleased to confirm that they will be replanted during the next planting season later in the year.
