Companies and traders are being invited to exhibit and sell their products at Eastbourne’s jam-packed events calendar in 2008 with trade space and sponsorship opportunities available reaching crowds of up to 500,000.

Eastbourne Borough Council organise major events for the town every year, including Airbourne; the biggest seafront airshow in the world, Magnificent Motors and Eastbourne Extreme. With record crowd attendance in 2007, traders and exhibitors are being encouraged to take advantage of the huge footfall at these popular events and applications are now officially open for companies, traders and potential sponsors to register their interest.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said “Eastbourne’s events calendar offers a fantastic opportunity for traders and businesses with events that attract large numbers of visitors every year. We had phenomenal success in 2007 with record numbers of crowds coming to the town and these events offer an opportunity not to be missed. What could be better than getting your product into the reach of hundreds of thousands of visitors and all from the stunning location of Eastbourne seafront?”

Magnificent Motors kicks off the town’s major events from 3-4 May and last year’s festival saw crowds of 25,000 over the two days. One of the South Coast’s biggest free motoring festivals, the event generates income of £1 million making it a top choice for companies to sell and exhibit their products. Based on the town’s Western seafront and with space available on the Western Lawns, exhibitors will be able to set up their stands alongside vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, buses and steam traction engines.

Eastbourne events continue through the year, with the main pre-Wimbledon event, the International Women’s Open tennis tournament coming to the Devonshire Park in June, followed by stunt bikes, free runners and Thundercat Power Boating taking over the Eastern seafront at Eastbourne Extreme in July.

Airbourne returns in August filling the skies with spectacular aerobatics and offers multiple opportunities for companies to get their name out there and reach more than 500,000 people over just four days. With trade and exhibition space available, companies can also opt to sponsor the event with tailor-made sponsorship packages offering branding in 20,000 souvenir programmes, features in 50,000 pre-event promotional materials, plus multimedia opportunities through the web and Radio Airbourne.

Dairylea, Kodak, Nintendo and Rolls-Royce are just some of the blue chip companies that have exhibited at Airbourne in the past and made the most of the many brand and commercial opportunities available.

Walkers Crisps exhibited at Airbourne in 2007 with Iain Stewart Associates looking after staff arrangements for their exhibition and Iain would recommend the opportunity: “Our agency provided the staff for the Walkers site at Airbourne in 2007. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive with a resounding vote that the event worked very well for us.”

With top credits to its name, from winning the Blue Flag award for its first class beaches to being billed as the sunniest place in the UK by a renowned quality of life survey, Eastbourne is a recognised top tourist destination and millions of visitors return each year.
