Mayor to Open Scooterbility Workshop
26 June 2008
His Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Greg Szanto, will be opening the first ‘Scooterbility’ workshop taking place in Eastbourne on Tuesday 1 July, at the Devonshire Halls.
The Mayor of Eastbourne Councillor Gregory Szanto says, “Anything that helps disabled people to achieve greater mobility is to be welcomed. I am delighted to have this opportunity to promote the invaluable work of the Disability Involvement Group who have initiated these training workshops in order to do just that.”
The workshops designed and promoted by the Disability Involvement Group (DIG) in partnership with Mobility organisations, will provide information on responsible Scooter usage. Mobility professionals will be helping to build confidence by offering advice and guidance and taking people through using a Scooter for the first time.
So if you feel you would like to know more about Scooters and have the opportunity of trying several different types to match your individual requirements, or just have a chat with other users, book your place at one of the two-hour workshops being held on Tuesday 1 July and 26 August at 10.30am Devonshire Halls, or Tuesday 22 July and Friday 26 September at 2.30pm at the Willingdon Trees Community Centre.
