Organisers and managers of sports clubs and others involved in community sport are being invited to a forum on how to further develop their clubs. The event will give information on how groups can obtain tax breaks by becoming Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC). The evening is organised by the Eastbourne Sports and Physical Activity Network (ESPAN) and is being held at Eastbourne Town Hall on the 8th May between 6pm and 8pm.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Housing, Health and Community Services Councillor Margaret Bannister says, “I would urge as many sports club managers and organisers as possible to attend this forum. The evening promises to provide a wealth of useful information that can help support the clubs, and more importantly, the children and young people using them. The Council is committed to encouraging partnership working for the benefit of the community.”
Attendees will be able to find out about the benefits of joining ESPAN and how it is helping local community based sports groups. Advice and guidance on becoming a CASC will be available on the night along with the opportunity to talk to other sports clubs and agencies.
