A number of the Council’s car park ticket machines were vandalised in two separate incidents during the last week. A machine at Butt’s Brow and four machines at Beachy Head were damaged having been smashed with a wooden pole.
Cabinet spokesperson for the environment, Councillor Steve Wallis says “This is a clear act of wanton vandalism that cannot be tolerated and we must all hope the culprits are reprimanded as soon as possible. Unfortunately this kind of act is a real inconvenience to visitors and costs the council tax payers a great deal of money to repair the damage.'
Both incidents have been reported to the police and we hope that all the machines will be back in working order by Friday of this week.
