A Health and Safety event is being organised by Eastbourne Borough Council’s Environmental Health service on the 2 October for businesses in the town.
The free event has proved very popular and is now fully booked up, with 70 local business people attending.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Housing Health and Community Services Councillor Margaret Bannister says, “This is a great opportunity for local businesses to get to grips with health and safety legislation. Eastbourne Borough Council has put on this event in response to business demand and we are continuing to work with the local economy to make Eastbourne a safer place to work and visit.”
The event is for hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and residential care homes, at the International Lawn Tennis Centre, Devonshire Park, Eastbourne.
Expert speakers will cover a wide range of topics including:
- Lift safety
- Fire risk assessments
- Electrical safety
- Control of legionella
- Tourism and Hospitality
- Health and safety essentials - risk assessments and policies
There will also be a variety of information stands from other partner agencies and Council departments:
- Town Centre Regeneration
- Trading Standards
- Environment Agency
- Federation of Small Businesses
- Food Safety
