Residents and businesses who do not pay their Council Tax by direct debit are being asked to hand deliver their payments to the Council offices during postal strikes.
An Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson said, “During the current Industrial Action by Royal Mail, which may result in payments by post taking longer to reach customers accounts, the Council will continue as normal with its recovery action. Reminders, Finals, and Summons Notices will be issued as planned.
“We understand peoples concerns that these payments may be delayed. In order to avoid recovery action being taken, we suggest that you hand deliver cheques directly to the Council’s office at 1 Grove Road or alternatively that you allow plenty of time for your payment to reach us by post.”
There are other ways to pay your bill, such as by direct debit, by credit or debit card through the Internet or by our automated telephone line or at a post office. Details of these methods of payment can be found on the back of your bill. Alternatively, please contact the Local Taxation team on 410000 for further information.
