The Mayor of Eastbourne is to be presented with a cheque for £400 following an ‘Irish Night’ organised by the Catholic Community. The evening of fundraising took place on 9 November at the Fisherman’s Club and included Country and Western and Irish dancing.
Mary Sheppard and Bernadette Shell from St Agnes Church will be formally presenting the cheque to the Mayor on Tuesday 4 December at 3.15pm in the Mayor’s Parlour. The cheque will be donated to the Mayor’s Charities, People Matter and Open Door.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Mrs Mary Pooley, says, “I am honoured to accept this impressive donation as a result of the hard work of St Agnes Church to hold this event. I am very pleased that they have chosen to donate to my charities, and I know that their contribution will be very much appreciated.”
