Chaffins Tree Surgery, one of Eastbourne Borough Councils’ approved Contractors have helped the Arboricultural team improve the town environment with the supply and planting, free of charge, of 550 trees in Five Acres Field. The trees are a mix of native hedgerow specimens planted as a shelter belt and are a further addition to our green nature corridors, which as they mature will provide a rich wildlife habitat.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Economy, Tourism and the Environment Councillor Steve Wallis says, “This is a most welcome and exciting initiative. Tree planting not only enhances an area but provides local wildlife with essential habitat. We thank Chaffins Tree Surgery for their generosity and foresight.”
Chaffins Director Tim Harry says, “Nature and Trees are an essential investment to our urban communities, we see it as our duty as Arborists to help with this. At Chaffins we are involved in many planting and landscaping projects and we are proud to say that we now plant a lot more trees than we fell.”
