A Bank Holiday Silver Lining

Bandstand
Eastbourne's Bandstand
1 May 2007

The Bandstand welcomes the return of the fabulous Eastbourne Silver Band on May Day for a traditional Bank Holiday concert.

A premier concert band in the area, the Eastbourne Silver Band are set to play the Bandstand throughout the season and compliment an already traditional Bank Holiday weekend line-up with the Magnificent Motors event, The Tony Studwick Orchestra & Singers Big Band and the Lewes, Glynde & Beddingham Brass band.

Eastbourne Borough Council Director of Tourism, Economy & Environment, Norman Kinnish, adds “We are delighted to be hosting such a varied musical programme at the Bandstand this year from classical to pop tributes!  This Bank Holiday has a much more traditional feel and we've got a superb brass and silver band lined up, as well as a the amazing sound of the Big Band - a great preview to the up and coming Big Band evenings which start in June.”.

The busy schedule is set to continue throughout May with Sunday afternoon performances from the All Saints Concerts Band on 13 May, the Southwest Surrey Concert Band on 20 May, Oddfellows Brass Band on 27 May and another traditional Bank Holiday Monday concert from the Croydon Symphonic Band on 28 May.

Afternoon concerts start at 3pm and cost just £3.50 per person or join Friends of the Bandstand free of charge to receive discounted tickets.
