HMS Puncher will arrive in Eastbourne Harbour – one of its home ports - on Saturday 24 March at 2.00pm for a five day visit. There will be a number of VIPs on board including The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne together with Mr Paul Metcalfe, Lifeboat Operations Manager.
The Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey, says, “I am looking forward to joining HMS Puncher for the journey from Brighton. Because of the town’s link with the Navy I know that many residents enjoy her regular visits to Eastbourne every spring and I hope that lots of people will take the opportunity to visit her in Sovereign Harbour.”
The ship, a P2000 Patrol Vessel, will be open to the public for viewing on Saturday 25 March from 9am -1pm and 2pm – 4pm.
The Mayor will be hosting a small buffet reception in the Mayor’s Parlour on Monday 26 March for the crew of HMS Puncher.
