The construction industry is a growth sector. Over the next few years there is around £300 million in contract value to be gained in the Eastbourne area. The Eastbourne Construction Partnership wants to retain this economic activity in the town.
To ensure this happens, the Partnership invites you to sign up to the Eastbourne Construction Charter and to become part of the Partnership. It is free.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Planning, Councillor Patrick Warner says, “With so much potential business to be had, Eastbourne builders deserve to do well and signing up to the Construction Charter is an excellent way to ensure local people benefit.”
The Charter is a voluntary code of practice which invites construction related employers to sub-contract local businesses, employ and train local people and purchase locally.
The benefits of joining are:
- Promote the industry as a professional sector and as a career
- Work with other construction businesses to make sure local work goes to local companies
- Promote your business
- Be part of the network and have your say
- Resolve training and recruitment difficulties
- Receive free business support
To join or for more information contact the Charter’s Co-ordinator Kerry Band on 01323 415054. Meetings can be arranged at your place of work, onsite or at the Council’s offices. Early evening appointments are also available.
