The Council has entered a new phase in preparation for the regeneration of the town centre. The Council is currently negotiating the Development Agreement with the development partner, Performance Retails Limited Partnership (PRLP), and as work progresses behind the scenes, the Council has prepared a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) fact sheet for residents, along with a Glossary of Terms and Abbreviations.
Leader of the Council, Councillor David Tutt says ‘This is a complex project. There are many unknowns and lots of jargon is being used. By publishing the FAQ sheet and Glossary we hope to demystify the regeneration project and provide answers to the many questions people have’.
The Council will regularly review both documents and, as the scheme progresses, update these accordingly.
Publication of the FAQ sheet and Glossary ties in with the exhibition Lend Lease Retail will be holding to showcase some of their other projects.
Working on behalf of PRLP, Lend Lease Retail has a fantastic track record in developing shopping and leisure destinations which include Bluewater in Kent, Touchwood in Solihull and Golden Square in Warrington which opened in May this year.
Leader of the Council, Councillor David Tutt says, “This is the biggest and most exciting regeneration project to hit Eastbourne since the last war. I am really pleased that Lend Lease Retail will shortly be holding an exhibition in the Arndale Centre to showcase their work. The exhibition is a precursor to consultation on their proposals. I encourage everyone who can to take a look. Please watch out for details in the local press.”
