Council Relax Requirement to Pay for Green Garden Waste Service by Direct Debit Only
At their meeting on the 23 July, Cabinet resolved that residents who wish to have the fortnightly green garden waste collection service for only £26.00 per year could pay by cash, cheque, debit or credit card in addition to paying by direct debit.
Councillor Troy Tester said, “We want to give local people choice in how they pay for this service.”
“We are committed to increasing recycling within the borough and see this as a positive step to encouraging residents to use the green garden waste collection service.”
Councillor Tester added, “We are sure that the majority of people will want to pay by direct debit which we would prefer, as this reduces overall the cost of providing the service.”
