On Friday 12 January 2007 at 11 am The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey, will officially reopen the thatched shelter located on the lower promenade between the Wish Tower and Holywell.
The shelter’s thatched roof was destroyed by fire in the early hours of Sunday 18 June 2006. The repair work was covered by the Council’s insurance and was carried out by Ellis Building Contractors of Birch Road, Eastbourne.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey says, “I am delighted that this beautiful sea facing shelter is again able to give both residents and visitors an excellent resting place whilst taking a walk along the seafront.”
