The Council’s Community Enforcement Team has set up a partnership with local businesses in Hampden Park. The team has recently cleared graffiti from several buildings in the area which has saved these businesses thousands of pounds.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for the Environment Councillor David Elkin says, “This is excellent news and yet another way in which the Council is working in partnership with others in deterring and reacting to environmental crime.”
The partnership will now quickly respond to reports of graffiti within the partnership area. Any new graffiti will be photographed for police evidence and then a graffiti removal kit will be left with the business owner to remove the graffiti.
The Community enforcement team will work with the police and local schools in an attempt to identify the offender and will aim to achieve:
1. Quick removal of graffiti
2. Offenders identified
3. A cleaner environment
4. Local residents and shops working together
