A new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists has been constructed at Elm Grove, Hampden Park allowing people improved access to other shopping and sports facilities; and the new medical centre.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for the Environment, Councillor Steve Wallis says, “This initiative is great news for the area and good news for local residents who can now easily get to vital services.”
Construction started in October with the new bridge being lowered into place in November. The funding was secured as part of a planning requirement for the recently constructed Hampden Park Medical Centre.
The new bridge provides an upgraded shared footway and cycle link between Elm Grove and the existing cycle footway network to the south leading to the Hampden Park Health Centre, sports and shopping facilities and the Sussex Downs College.
